World Braille Day, 4th January
Public libraries have a fundamental responsibility to
braille users and providing access to instruments and services is an integral
part of the purpose and missions of libraries.
In such endeavour, Divisional Library (South) has set up
a RRRLF Blind corner in the library in the year 2012. RRRLF Blind Corner is equipped with Two i5 processor enabled computers with an integrated software for visually impaired readers; JAWS, Read it Wand and a refreshable Braille
display or Braille terminal available for use under amiable library staff
guidance.
As a local gateway to
knowledge, Divisional Library (South) provides a basic condition for lifelong
learning of its users, independent decision-making and cultural development of
the individual and social groups of the region.
In the backdrop of less awareness of such facility in the region, Divisional Library (South) urges enabled users to integrate this information socially and spread it like a world fire!
