India’s Income Tax Day is observed annually on July 24th to mark the historic occasion when income tax was first introduced in India on the same day in 1860. This significant milestone in India’s financial history was initiated by Sir James Wilson, the British Finance Minister of India at that time. . It also provides an opportunity to recognize the role of taxpayers in contributing to the progress and welfare of India.
